How to invite judges via email, designate a lead judge, manage pending invitations, and remove judges from an event.
Judges receive a secure invitation email and score from their own phone or tablet — no app install required.
The judge receives an email with a secure link. Clicking it takes them directly to their scoring interface. If they don't have a LiveScoreboard account yet, they'll create one as part of the flow — it takes under a minute.
After inviting, you can see each judge's current status in the Judges tab:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Invited | Invitation sent, waiting for them to accept |
| Active | Judge has accepted and is ready to score |
| Declined | Judge declined the invitation |
| Completed | Event is finished, judge's scoring is locked |
If a judge hasn't received their email (check their spam folder first), you can resend from the Judges tab. Click the ⋯ menu next to their name and choose Resend Invitation.
By default, a newly accepted judge can score all categories in the event. To restrict a judge to specific categories, click their name and adjust their category assignments.
This is useful for large events where different panels of judges cover different disciplines.
One judge per event can be designated the Lead Judge. The Lead Judge has special responsibilities:
To assign a Lead Judge, click the ⋯ menu next to a judge's name and choose Set as Lead Judge. Only one Lead Judge can be assigned at a time.
The number of Lead Judges allowed per event depends on your plan. Most plans allow one. Plans from Tier 5 and above allow multiple Lead Judges.
To remove a judge from an event, click the ⋯ menu next to their name and choose Remove Judge. This removes their access to the scoring interface immediately.
Removing a judge does not delete scores they've already submitted.
The maximum number of judges per event depends on your plan:
See the Plan Comparison for the full breakdown.
