How to create, configure, and manage the lifecycle of an event — from setup through completion.
An event in LiveScoreboard is the container for an entire competition. It holds your categories, participants, judges, and scoring results.
Every event moves through four statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Setup | You're still configuring the event. Judges cannot score yet. |
| Ready | Setup is complete. You can invite people to review, but scoring hasn't started. |
| Active | The competition is live. Judges can submit scores. |
| Completed | Scoring is closed. Final results are locked. |
You control the status transitions from the Live Control tab in your event dashboard.
From the Admin Dashboard, click Create Event. You'll fill in:
After creation, you land on the event detail page where you configure categories, add participants, and invite judges.
If you've run a similar competition before, you can save time by starting from a template. Templates preserve your category structure and scoring configurations but start with empty participant and judge lists.
To use a template:
See your template library at Admin → Templates.
Need to run last year's event again? Use Duplicate Event from the event's options menu. You can choose what to copy:
Duplicated events start in Setup status with a new name you provide.
From the Settings tab of your event you can update:
Events can be deleted from the event options menu. Deletion is permanent and removes all associated scores, participants, and judge assignments. You will be asked to confirm before deletion proceeds.
